CCS'S SCHOLARSHIP AWARD INSPIRES YOUNG
BERMUDIAN
Hamilton, October 15, 2001- CCS Group Ltd. chief
executive officer Rob Loxton
announced today that Azeem Pitcher
is this year's recipient of the CCS Technology and Telecommunications
Scholarship award. The scholarship is awarded to CCS Group employees using a
criterion-based system based on the recipient's academic achievements and work
performance at CCS Group.
"Our scholarship program is intended to
reward employees who strive for the same excellence we do as a company," said
Mr. Loxton. "We are proud to recognize Mr. Pitcher's dedication and hard work
with this year's award."
Any CCS Group employee wishing to pursue a
post-secondary degree in the fields of technology and telecommunications is
eligible for the award. Recipients have access to more than $10,000 in
grants over the course of a four-year degree program. Whilst enlisted in
the scholarship program, student employees are afforded the opportunity to
retain their existing positions at CCS during school breaks. Mr. Pitcher, a
21 year old Bermudian, joined CCS Group in 1999 as a cabling technician.
He is a graduate of the Bermuda College from where he obtained an Associate
Degree in Computer Science.
Mr. Pitcher plans to attend Devry Institute
of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. He will pursue a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Telecommunications Management. From there, he plans to further
pursue a Master's Degree in Project Management. Mr. Pitcher hopes to
combine the hands-on skills he attained at CCS Group with his educational
experience, to advance his career in the technology and telecommunications
arena.
"My CCS work experience has made my
transition into Devry's telecommunications program a little easier," said Mr.
Pitcher. "Working in the CCS Cabling Division for the past three years, I
have acquired practical experience that provides a good base for my scholastic
goals."
